Scientific Inspirator / Teaching Assistant

We are looking for you who are a student in the teacher training program and want to work extra alongside your studies in our educational activities.

About us

2047 Science Center is an arena for knowledge transfer. We work to strengthen the scientific capital of the population in Dalarna and are part of the region's strategic skills supply.

In our mission, we run a popular, public experimental environment in Borlänge and an educational specialist organization linked to STEM subjects that works on a contractual basis with schools in the municipalities of Falun and Borlänge. We have assignments from preschool to high school.

In our educational specialist organization STEM, both certified teachers and teaching assistants/scientific inspirators work.

About the role

Together with our educational specialist organization, you will work to strengthen the scientific capital of the region's youth. You will lead teaching/inspiration sessions independently, both at the Science Center and on-site at schools in the municipalities of Falun and Borlänge.

We teach and inspire from preschool to high school – and spread interest in natural sciences, technology, and mathematics to the public of all ages.

An excellent opportunity for you studying to become a teacher to apply your theoretical knowledge in practical action.

We are now building a team of scientific inspirators/teaching assistants who want to work part-time during the school year.

The extent varies and should be compatible with full-time studies.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a student in the teacher training program. It is an advantage if you will be qualified in one of the STEM subjects.
• has an inclusive and solution-focused approach
• enjoys working both independently and in a team
• is meticulous, responsible, and flexible
• has an interest in natural sciences and technology

We place great emphasis on both formal qualifications and personal qualities that complement our group.

The position is a student employment (hourly employment) starting in January/February 2026.

Extent 0–20 hours per week.

2047 Science Center is located in Borlänge with a branch in Falun. Some work may also take place at other locations as part of our assignments. A B driver's license is an advantage. The work may sometimes involve evening and weekend shifts.

By law, a criminal record extract from the National Police Board is required upon employment. This is ordered from the police by the person or persons offered the position.
